What is HCPW?
Hill Country Pop Warner (HCPW) is a nonprofit youth football and cheer organization serving Central Texas. Our mission is to give young athletes a safe, structured, and positive environment to grow, on and off the field. Through football, cheer, and dance, we aim to build more than just skills, we build character, confidence, and community.
HCPW is part of the Pop Warner Little Scholars program, one of the nation’s most respected youth sports organizations. Our goal is to develop well-rounded kids by emphasizing safety, academics, sportsmanship, and personal development. We believe the lessons learned through team sports, like leadership, discipline, focus, friendship, and resilience, stick with kids long after the season ends.
We welcome participants from all backgrounds and skill levels. As a recreational yet competitive league, our focus is on participation, growth, and fun. We believe every child who wants to play should have that opportunity, no matter their experience or ability.
To promote safety and fairness, HCPW follows an age-and-weight matrix. This approach allows for better matchups on the field, reducing injury risks and helping create a more enjoyable experience for all players. Heavier players are placed in positions that maximize safety while still allowing them to contribute meaningfully to their teams. Our league is structured around local high school feeder patterns, allowing kids to grow alongside their classmates from elementary through high school. It’s not just about playing a sport, it’s about building lasting bonds, staying active, and preparing for the future, both in athletics and in life.
