What is HCPW?
Hill Country Pop Warner (“HCPW”) is a non-profit youth football and cheer & dance league that is committed to providing our communities’ youth with an opportunity to participate in an atmosphere that promotes safety, academics, as well as social and life skills development.
The mission of Hill Country Pop Warner Little Scholars is to enable young people to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, HCPW programs teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that young people will use throughout their lives. HCPW strives to inspire youth regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness., all while having a good time. The program stresses learning lessons of value beyond playing or cheering, such as: self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship. With such goals in mind, and providing an opportunity to participate in an organized, supervised environment with emphasis on maximum safety and participation, HCPW hopes to provide a memorable experience for all participants.
HCPW associations are formed around feeder programs for local high schools with boundaries so as to keep our kiddos together in their journey from elementary through middle school into high school sports. We are a recreational league that is competitive. We want all players that want to play football to be able to play regardless of their ability and experience. We are also an age and weight limit league. We believe better match ups on the field starts with grouping appropriate age levels and limiting heavier players to lineman positions. This will provide better matchups on the field making the game safer and more enjoyable for all that participate.
